LG X5 2018 has been unveiled in South Korea by the tech giant, the device is the updated version of the X5 smartphone that was introduced years ago. The X5 2018 is an affordable mid-range smartphone from LG that supports LG Pay.
Internally, it has an octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB storage space. It comes with a single rear camera and lots of bezels, two features we won’t consider as “trendy”. Nonetheless, it runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo.
Design
The LG X5 2018 has a plastic back and a metal frame, it also looks attractive for a phone with a plastic back. It comes with a rear fingerprint scanner which grants quick access to the device in less than a second. There’s a rear loudspeaker here as well.
In terms of camera and LED flash placement, it’s quite unique compared to what we typically see. Although, it’s bulky to the sides, measuring 8.9mm in thickness and weighing 171g overall. It will be available in only Morokan Blue color.
Display
We’ve seen lots of mid-range and even budget-friendly smartphones with the trending full view display. However, LG kept it simple on this one, as the screen offers the older 16:9 aspect ratio. With the LG logo at the bottom and usual features at the top.
It’s equipped with a 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, this boasts of 720 x 1280 pixels in resolution and 268 pixel per inch density offering clear visuals. You’ll also get taller visuals in landscape mode, because of the tiny narrow bezels.
Hardware and Software
It’s powered by MediaTek MT6750 chip which was built on a 28nm process technology, so power efficiency might not be great. However, the 8-Cores of processor here clocks at a fast speed of 1.5GHz. In the graphics territory, the ARM Mali-T860 MP2 graphics processor clocks at 530MHz.
For multitasking, there’s 2GB RAM space available which should be enough for light users. There’s also 32GB storage space which you can upgrade further up to 128GB anytime you like. The LG X5 2018 runs on Android 8.O Oreo.
Camera
There’s a single rear 13MP camera for all your photography needs, the camera comes with a LED flash and other Internal features as well. While the 5MP selfie camera comes with front LED flash as well and takes cute selfies.
Battery
Powering the LG X5 2018 is a 4,500mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2.2 hours.
