Motorola Moto Z Force Specs Review & Price

Motorola Mobility, of course now owned by Lenovo, unveiled two of her flagship devices, the Moto Z and Moto Z Force, last week and we must say they were sport on. But for the lack of the legendary 3.5 mm audio jack port on the devices, both devices pack features which could compete with any flagship presently in the market.

The Moto Z Force is thicker at 6.99mm, and comes with a dimension of 155.9 x 75.8 x 7 mm. The phone also weighs a mild 163g. The Z Force features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The display is also shatter-proof and further protection is provided by the presence of a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protective cover.

Operating System, Memory & Processor

The Moto Z Force boots Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and is powered by a Dual-core 2.15GHz Kryo with another variant sporting a dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo both Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 processor. Both versions packs Adreno Graphics processing Units.

The Z Force comes with a 4 GB RAM size which it has two versions of in-built memory, one packing 32 GB while the other packing 64 GB of on-Board storage. There’s also the option of expanding the internal memory up to 256 GB via a microSD card.

Camera, Battery, Connectivity

Coming down to the camera specs, the device sports a 21 MP shooter with f/1.8 aperture on the back and phase detection auto-focus, while keeping the laser auto-focus and OIS features from the Moto Z. The device also features a 5MP front facing camera for selfies which like the Moto Z, equally sports a LED flash.

The Moto Z Force also packs a bigger, non-removable 3,500 mAh Li-Ion battery with fast battery charging support. Ther connectivity options include; Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, NFC.

In all, apart from a few variations here and there, the Moto Z and Moto Z Force bear striking resemblance, including the fact that neither has a 3.5mm headset jack but features a USB Type-C port for headphones. Good thing is, Motorola will include a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box, though.

The main selling point of both Moto Z devices is their support for the new MotoMods. These are modular accessories that simply snap onto the phones’ backs thanks to some powerful magnets. They connect using those 16 “magical” dots that can be found on the lower part of the rear of the devices
