Design
Its actually so plain and boring to be honest, and the fact that it’s available in only black is a vibe killer. I really had high hopes for the affordable Note X from Nomi, the plastic and metal combination here looks boring. The company’s smartphones are known to sport a boring look but i thought the Note X would be different. The rear camera is pretty much visible at the back, with the fingerprint scanner right underneath it.
The LED flash sits beside the rear shooter, while the antenna goes right above the camera. I think the antenna line would have brought some fun to the back if it was in another color. Nevertheless, moving on to the sides, it measures 8.6mm which is impressive for a phablet. It is heavy as usual, weighing an astonishing 205g.
Display
The bigger display sure stands out, and if you come closer you will notice there’s been major reduction in bezels. The narrow bezels are almost invisible, while the top and bottom bezels are still there. The bottom bezel houses three navigation buttons. While the top houses the selfie camera, speaker grille and ambient light sensor.
The 6-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen is perfect for movies, boasting of 1280 x 720 pixels in resolution. For clear and immersive visuals, it has 245 pixel per inch density. Protecting the multi-touch screen is a 2.5D curved glass as it stretched all the way to 72.62%.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6580 chip with Quad-core processor. The processor reaches a clock speed of 1.3 GHz, with ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics processor. It has a 64-bit CPU architecture and 28nm process technology for smooth overall performance.
In terms of multitasking, there’s a 2GB RAM space which reaches a memory speed of 533MHz. Store everything from files to favorite movies in the 16GB internal storage space. If that isn’t enough, you can upgrade up to 32GB using a memory card. The i6030 Note X runs smoothly on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.
Camera
The 8MP Samsung camera is very disappointing though, capturing just 2K resolution images. It was built more of a tablet than a smartphone obviously, as images can only boast of 2828 x 2828 pixels in dimension. It has a LED flash and other quality features as well, to help in low light environment. You can also record videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second with the i6030 Note X. For selfies, the 2MP front shooter would do its job.
Battery
Powering the Nomi i6030 Note X is a 3300mAh removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology support. It might take up to 3 hours to fully charge the Note X from 0% to 100%.
