According to reports, smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is currently working on a new feature that helps its users find charging stations around them. If this feature is implemented, users will be able to get a quick charge when away from home.
A senior member of XDADevelopers brought this news to light. He discovered a new set of features in the Settings app which were added in the Android 11 Beta 1 version for OnePlus latest flagship devices, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.
What was gathered suggested that the Chinese OEM has a network of Charging Stations in the works to enable its users to get a quick charge when away from home. At every charging station, there will be a BLE beacon. This will enable each station to broadcast its location to OnePlus smartphones that may be around. OnePlus will also pack these charging stations with fast charging.
We do not know, however, when OnePlus plans to make this feature public. OnePlus has begun deploying charging stations. According to an image shared by a user on Twitter, charging stations have been implemented at Bengaluru Airport in Indis. From the image, we can see the OnePlus logo on the charging dock. On the charging station, you get two USB ports and a standard universal charging plug.
