The new Galaxy A9 phablet is the biggest, most powerful member of the Samsung A family that joins the A7 (2016) with 5.5-inch display, A5 (2016) with 5.2-inch display, and A3 (2016) with 4.7-inche display, respectively comes with a Full HD display, an improved main camera, Octa-Core processor. Samsung Galaxy A9 showcases an attractive design, much like what you’d ordinarily expect from a device from its Korean maker complete with the metal sculpted edges and glass front panel. While all three smaller models measure 7.3mm thin, the A9 manages to be the odd one out by adding 0.1mm extra to its thickness.
The new Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016) crams in 6-inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen and has a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of approximately 367ppi for awesome viewing experience. Samsung offers you four colours to choose from, including Pearl White, Midnight Black, Champagne Gold.
Camera
On the camera front, Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016) packs a flash-assisted rear camera of 13 megapixel and 8MP for the front-facing selfie cam, both of which have a ƒ/1.9 aperture lens.
In addition to the usual features, the main shooter now boasts optical image stabilisation (OIS) – a feature you’d ordinarily expect to see on high-end smartphones.

Inside, it packs in the recently rebranded 64-bit Qualcomm Xiaolong MSM8976 A72 octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor (previously named 620) clocking in at 1.8GHz equipped with Adreno510 core graphics processor, can easily deal with thousands of data challenges, paired with 3GB RAM – similar to the one on the new Infinix Zero 3 and 32GB of storage with the ability to expand up to 128GB via MicroSD card for your pictures, videos and other files.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) and fueled by a larger 4,000mAh capacity non-removable battery even though the device is just 7.4 mm thin, Samsung has managed to pack in the huge battery with support for Quick-charge.
You will be able to enjoy lightning fast browsing and downloading speeds on Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016) with its 4G LTE-A (Cat. 6) support.
The device can be unlocked, and used for contactless payment (Samsung PAY) with the aid of the finger-print sensor located at the bottom of the physical home button. The Galaxy A9, similar to other recently launched high-end devices from Samsung, comes with Samsung Pay. Connectivity options also include microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, ANT+ and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n.
Pricing and availability
The device will be available in China later this month with pricing being confirmed at a later date.
Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016) is not yet available in Nigeria. We currently have no data on pricing and availability for Nigeria. When available, Samsung Galaxy A9 Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N95,000 to N120,000 at launch.
