Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 already measures blood pressure!

When Samsung launched its latest Galaxy Watch, some of the most popular features were the support for monitoring heart rate and the electrocardiogram that has not yet shown its grace. However, Galaxy Watch Active 2 did not yet have support for blood pressure testing, which is now being implemented.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 already measures blood pressure!

A few months ago, Samsung announced that support for checking blood pressure would be implemented over time. That day has arrived and it is certainly good news, although it is not yet available everywhere.

That said, the South Korean giant has started implementing support for blood pressure measurement on Galaxy Watch Active 2 devices in South Korea. This will allow for much more thorough monitoring of blood pressure. Likewise, this company also launched the Health Monitor app.

To take advantage of this new feature, users need to calibrate the watch using traditional blood pressure monitoring equipment. It will also help to ensure that the results obtained are as reliable as possible. Then you can use the Galaxy Watch Active 2 pulse wave analysis to measure blood pressure.

For all this to work, two devices are required – the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 and the smartphone connected to it. Blood pressure readings are synchronized with the application and users can log for days, weeks, and months and can also share data with doctors or healthcare professionals. That’s why it’s a really useful feature.

If this novelty is present in the Galaxy Watch Active 2 then it is a given that will also be implemented in the Galaxy Watch 3 that has been talked about in recent days.

Like the previous version, the Galaxy Watch 3 will arrive in two different sizes.

The 45mm model is capable of integrating a 1.4-inch screen into a body that is 45 x 46.2 x 11.1 mm. I remember that the previous 46mm model had a 1.3-inch panel. The 41mm version of the Galaxy Watch 3 is also smaller and thinner than the 42mm Galaxy Watch. However, the 1.2-inch screen remains.

The Galaxy Watch 3 will bring the rotating bezel to life again, which is extremely practical and should be slightly smaller than the one present in the Galaxy Watch. I remember that Watch Active 2 replaced this hardware-based functionality with a software alternative.

However, there are also elements in common with models from the past. One concerns battery life. Still, nothing is known about the processor. It will eventually be able to further improve efficiency. We will have 247 and 340mAh batteries in the 41 and 45 mm versions of the Galaxy Watch 3, respectively.
