(Special) IPTV – Is watching TV on the Internet legal or not?

In short, is IPTV legal or not? – In truth, when talking about IPTV… Disinformation reigns! We have a lot of people trying to help multiple users, but we also have very good people trying to make money in ways that are not always completely legal. In short, this sums up IPTV in several markets where money does not abound, but the desire to have access to Premium TV content is more than a lot.

(Special) Very briefly, is IPTV legal or not? Let’s try to understand!

So, to begin with, you need to understand what the acronym IPTV means!

Well, we are talking about Internet Protocol TV, or even more simply, television signals transmitted over the Internet.

If you don’t know, there are several ways to transmit a TV signal. In which the most common and oldest is undoubtedly by air! Do you still remember the antenna you had in your house? In the past, a tower emitted analog or more recently digital signals, and our home antennas received and showed their content through TV. (Just like the radio)

However, there is also a way to transmit TV signals via satellite. This is where classic gigantic satellite dishes come in, which pick up signals emitted by orbiting satellites.

In addition to all this, we also have the cable (usually coaxial), which is later connected to a decoder to read the transmitted signal.

And of course, finally, we have the transmission of the TV signal via the Internet, the well-known IPTV! In this way, operators take a fiber optic cable to the user’s home, which will not only take the Internet but will also carry such TV signals (depending on the package paid by the consumer).

However, what many users do not know, is that when we talk about Netflix, HBO, or Disney +, we are also talking about IPTV services. Because after all, we are also talking about TV signals transmitted over the Internet.

And in fact, this is where all the confusion begins. After all, some companies and individuals have started to set up structures for the distribution of closed TV channels using this technology.

That is, the company or individual behind this operation gets access to thousands of channels (probably illegally), and then takes all that digital information to a server under its control. Subsequently, using this server, you will distribute the data to all those interested in subscribing to your service. (With the help of a decoding box or box)

A box for decoding? For what? Excellent question!

As you may know, the vast majority of TVs on the market are already SmartTVs. That is, the ‘box’ is no longer necessary since a simple application can decode the signal. You don’t even need a TV to view IPTV content, just install an app on your Android Box, PC, smartphone, or tablet, and load all the necessary information.

Conclusion

In short, IPTV technology is simply brutal, offering an image quality far superior to what we were used to in the very recent past.

The problem turns out to be all these parallel services, which are not always legal, and which end up winning over several consumers due to significantly lower prices. After all, as the quality of the service is almost always doubtful, the technology itself has a bad image in the eyes of users.

In short, IPTV technology represents the future of TV broadcasts around the world. But when associated with piracy, it can pose a serious problem for those who sell, but also for those who buy. In fact, just look at all the services that have been closed by ACE … And of course, if this gigantic alliance gets its hands on the servers, you will also have access to the personal data of all registered users.
