Nexus 5 was a great product. More than that, it was one of the first devices that came with Android 4.4 Kitkat. This phone was Google’s attempt to revert to the pure ideology of its earlier models. There was also Google Now Launcher which gives easy access to its smart assistant.
That Nexus which was of course not the greatest product anyone could everyone have. It was not perfect. Some of what people deemed not okay was dim display and on the other side, a camera that didn’t glorify the real clout of affordable Android phones.
Common people, no matter how bad things were, loved the handset. It was seen as a traditional Android user’s ideal device. But more than that, it was based on Moto X and it set itself apart with a larger design. Of course, you could count it as the first to make use of Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Google may have thought that there was no more innovation coming from LG after the two-device commitment. In 2014, Google started making friends with Motorola and both companies wanted to work on a new Nexus phone known as Nexus 6. At that time, phablets became very popular.
They came with big screens that people thought were very cute and it became hugely popular. Google made it more attractive with 2560 x 1440 AMOLED display. Google utilized the Nexus 6 as the first handset to support Project Fi, which was the firm’s mobile operator service.
In that same year 2014, there was a new approach to Android. It was called Android One from the stable of Google and it was designed as a streamlined and unmodified version of Android, made specifically for affordable entry-level devices in emerging markets.
Since its launch, Android One helped to shape the development of Android in Google’s own devices and this are just getting better and better. Cleaner UI, high security and faster updates are some of the good things that started with Android One.
It has been said that 2015 marked the final year of Nexus line of devices. Since then, Google has shifted attention on the Pixel and these devices as we know, are pulling fans across the world.
