I believe there are a lot of people out there who need budget smartphones with a long-lasting battery. It’ll be hard for me to use a smartphone that features a small battery capacity. The Tecno Pouvoir 2 succeeds the Tecno Pouvoir 1 that was released earlier. For reasons best known to Tecno Mobile, they secretly released the Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro, which is an advanced version of the Pouvoir 2. One common feature on all three Pouvoir smartphones is the 5000 mAh battery. In this article, we’ll be comparing the Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro with the Tecno Pouvoir 2.

Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – The Design

Mainly looking at both smartphones, it’ll be hard to tell a difference as they feature the design. At the back, there’s a sleek curved antenna line at the top and bottom back corner. They also feature a single rear camera that’s aligned at the top center. Below the rear camera is a LED flash. And below the flash is a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.

The main difference in the design department is the back body build. The Tecno Pouvoir 2 features a plastic unibody while the Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro features a metallic unibody. Though, both should be pretty comfortable in the hand. They both measure 8.5 mm in thickness. And are available in the same City Blue, Midnight Black, and Champagne Gold body colors. Aside from the fingerprint sensor, they both support facial identification technology for biometric security.

Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – The Display

Big screen lovers like me, will get to enjoy the 6.0 inch IPS LCD panel on both Pouvoir smartphones. I was really expecting the Pouvoir 2 Pro to feature a better display resolution than the Pouvoir 2 but was left disappointed. The display of both Pouvoir smartphones packs a 720 x 1440 pixels resolution, an 18:9 aspect ratio, 76.3 screen-to-body ratio and 269 pixels per inch density.

Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – The Camera

The single rear camera of both the Pouvoir 2 Pro and Pouvoir 2 sports the same 13MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash. Crossing over to the front-facing camera and we see another difference. The Tecno Pouvoir 2 features an 8MP shooter. Whereas, the Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro comes with a bigger 13MP shooter.

Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – Hardware and Software

Powering the Pouvoir 2 is MediaTek MT6737 chipset with Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and ARM Mali-T720 MP2 graphics processing unit. While on the Pouvoir 2 Pro is MediaTek MT6750 chipset with an Octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and ARM Mali-T860 MP2 graphics processing unit.

Both Pouvoir smartphones run on Android 8.1 Oreo while the Pouvoir 2 comes in a 2GB memory and 16GB storage option. The Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro on the other hand, comes with a 3GB memory and 16GB storage.

Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – The Battery

Like I said in the introduction, the Tecno Pouvoir 2 and Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro packs the same non-removable Li-lon 5000 mAh battery. The only difference is that the Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro supports fast battery charging 5V/2A while the Pouvoir 2 doesn’t.

Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – The Price

The Tecno Pouvoir 2 is currently sold for about $130 (N45,500). Whereas, the Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro is expected to cost around $150 (N52,500). Value for money here is definitely on the Tecno Pouvoir 2 Pro. You’ll get a fast battery charging support, extra four core processor, bigger front camera pixels and bigger memory for just additional $20 (N7,000).
