Tecno Camon X VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – the Overall quality or Battery? Tecno Mobile has a new series under their brand called “Pouvoir”. And under this series, they’ve released two smartphones called “Tecno Pouvoir 1” and “Tecno Pouvoir 2”. The series seems to focus on battery, just as the Camon series focuses on camera. The Pouvoir 1 and Pouvoir 2 are loaded with a 5000 mAh battery, which Tecno says can last up to 4 straight days (96 hours) on normal usage. The Tecno Pouvoir 2 aside from its astounding battery capacity, also features quality specifications.
The Tecno Camon X has been one of the best Tecno release in 2024 with its bigger model; Camon X Pro. While the Pouvoir 2 specializes on Battery, the Camon X takes pride in its camera quality. But overall, which of these two Tecno’s smartphones has the best quality. They’re in the same price range, so let’s see which one offers value for money.
Tecno Camon X VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – The Design
The design of the Tecno Camon X is quite the same with the Tecno Pouvoir 2. They both feature a front glass with polycarbonate plastic unibody. You will see an antenna line at the top and bottom of their back. Their fingerprint sensor is rear mounted, and underneath is the Tecno Mobile brand name. The single rear camera and LED flash of the Tecno Pouvoir 2 is placed at the top center above the fingerprint sensor. While for the Tecno Camon X, the rear camera and LED flash is at the top left corner.
Their height and width is closer than their thickness. The Pouvoir 2 is bulky at 8.5mm thickness compared to the Camon X at 7.8mm thickness. The Tecno Camon X weighs just 148 grams, while the Pouvoir 2 weighs over 200 grams. I guess that’s the price the Pouvoir 2 has to pay for featuring a 5000 mAh battery. The Champagne Gold, Midnight Black, and City Blue body colors are available for both the Tecno Camon X and the Tecno Pouvoir 2. They both support Face Identification Technology, which is a big plus for the Pouvoir 2.
Tecno Camon X VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – The Display
The display of the Tecno Camon X is almost exactly the same on the Pouvoir 2. It will be hard to tell the difference between both phone’s display. They both feature a 6.0-inch HD+ IPS LCD touchscreen. Their display sports a 720 x 1440 pixels resolution with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Tecno Camon X features 275 pixels per inch density while the Tecno Pouvoir 2 has a 269 pixels per inch density.

Tecno Camon X VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – The Camera
This is where the Tecno Camon X is designed for and it’ll be hard for the Pouvoir 2 to triumph here. The Tecno Camon X’s rear camera host a 16MP sensor with quad-LED flash. While on the front is a 20MP front-facing camera with features such as Bokeh effect, HDR, and AI-based effects. The Tecno Pouvoir 2 comes with a 13MP rear camera and dual-LED flash. For the front camera, you get an 8MP sensor with LED flash. The Pouvoir 2 might not be equipped with good camera quality to challenge the Camon X. But the fact that it features a Face ID, should be a big win for the Pouvoir 2 users and aspiring ones.
Tecno Camon X VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – Hardware and Software
The Pouvoir 2 is being powered by MediaTek MT6737 chipset, which has a 4-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The ARM Mali-T720 MP2 graphics processing unit powers the graphics of the Pouvoir 2. Powering the Camon X is a more powerful Mediatek Helio P23 chipset that carries 8-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. Obviously, the Camon X will perform tasks more faster and efficient than the Pouvoir 2 without much lags.
Both the Camon X and Pouvoir 2 runs on HiOS skin with the Android 8.1 Oreo underneath it. The Tecno Camon X comes in a standard 3GB memory with a poor 16GB storage, though the storage can be expanded up to 128GB by microSD. The Pouvoir 2 comes in a 2GB memory with 16GB storage, expandable to just 32GB by microSD.

Tecno Camon X VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – The Battery
This is the Tecno Pouvoir 2’s territory. The smartphone packs a big non-removable Li-lon 5000 mAh battery. While for the Camon X, you get a non-removable Li-lon 3750 mAh battery. The Camon X supports fast battery charging while the Pouvoir 2 doesn’t.
Tecno Camon X VS Tecno Pouvoir 2 – The Price
The Tecno Camon X will cost you about $166 (N58,000). While the Pouvoir 2 comes at a cheaper $129 (N45,000). Aside from the battery of the Pouvoir 2, I honestly don’t see any reason why the phone is priced that high. And moreover what’s the use of a 5000 mAh battery without a fast charging technology. The Tecno Camon X’s 3750 mAh battery should still be okay to battery’s freak. And you get better hardware, memory and camera specs.

Personally I’ll go with the Camon because it is good for pictures. But then again, the battery of the Pourvoir cannot be ignored.
