The flagship year 2024 – A quick look into the future

The year is drawing to a close, but manufacturers are already preparing for the next generation of flagships. What will await us?

2018 was a good flagship year, I think, but that was mainly due to Huawei. They put a lot of pressure on the P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro and the market leaders Samsung and Apple delivered more “boring” models in 2024. One took that from 2017 and optimized it easily.

The flagship spring will be exciting

I think 2019 will do a little more and it starts directly with the Samsung Galaxy S10 in February. After 10 years of “Galaxy S,” it’s time again to present a showcase model.

I’m really excited about “Beyond X“.

Soon thereafter, the Huawei P30 Pro will surely follow, the two will certainly deliver the most exciting Battle Spring. HTC is probably not there, but the Sony Xperia XZ4 should not be underestimated at the MWC 2019 – the market share will be low.

Also expected in this period- The OnePlus 7 and LG G8, while you have to wait and see what the plans of LG for 2019 look like. And then there would be a possible Nokia 9, which could come later.

The Motorola Moto Z4 is likely to be slightly more interesting than the Z3 again, but it remains to be seen what the plans for 2019 will look like. Lenovo has now specialized in the middle class and no longer on flagships.

This is how the spring looks like in Germany, where I suspect that you can also expect Xiaomi from us by 2019 at the latest. Means- A Xiaomi Mi 9 in spring would also be a potential candidate for us.

The most exciting battle for me will be Huawei vs Samsung, which will certainly continue right in the second half of the year.

Also very interesting- the Google I / O 2019 and the WWDC 2019, which will bring us Android 10 and iOS 13 (in the form of a preview version).

The Flagship Winter 2019

I suspect that Samsung will show the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 shortly before the IFA 2019 and we will see the Huawei Mate 30 Pro shortly thereafter. During this period, you will also see an HTC U13, where I suspect that we will see in 2024 a new name.

If you even continue with flagships. After all, now works a very large part of the staff at Google and the fall of us will certainly present the Google Pixel 4 (XL). In the autumn I’m especially looking forward to Mate vs Pixel, the Battle was also in 2024 the most exciting.

Autumn also means New Apple iPhone in September. What follows after the iPhone X and iPhone XS, the iPhone XI? And then in 2024 the iPhone XIS?

Combining Roman numbers with letters was not the best idea, so maybe Apple will introduce a new name. Where the “X” is now so firmly integrated into the lineup (see also XR), that I now suspect that you want to keep it. I just do not know how.

Then it’s back to the lucrative Christmas business and I think we will see another OnePlus 7T and a Sony Xperia XZ5 in 2024. The LG V50 is likely to come – but maybe not to us.

The flagship highlights of 2019

Of course, this forecast is based on the speculation that manufacturers will continue as before and not change that much. But especially with HTC and LG, I would not be so sure. LG has a new boss for smartphones and HTC, well, HTC may actually dare to make a fresh start.

Three models I’m looking forward to in the Android world in 2024– The Huawei P30 Pro, the Samsung Galaxy S10 + and the Nokia 9. It will certainly be interesting to see how OnePlus evolves.

After what I think is the leanest S-year, I’m especially looking forward to Apple with the new iPhone. The X was a damn big step, you take a big step again, or it runs off like the iPhone 6, where you used the design the third year (iPhone 6, 6s and 7).

Anyway, I’m looking forward to the new flagships next year, it starts very soon and the rumor mill has already started.

Which model are you looking forward to next year?
