TikTok launches child control

Video social network TikTok has just implemented two new features into its apps that make it easier for parents to manage their kids when they use the social network.

TikTok is one of the leading popular applications in the world, with over 1 billion users and most of them are teenagers and even children.

Recognizing the need for specific policies to protect these young customers, TikTok once mentioned developing a measure for parents to control their children, as well as the limited ability. Children overuse their apps.

According to the latest announcement at TikTok Newsroom, TikTok has launched two new features, Family Safety Mode and Screen Time Management in Feed. These two features focus on managing children’s application usage.

Family Safety Mode allows linking TikTok accounts of parents with their children’s accounts. When this mode is activated, parents can control the usage time, limit the objects that can send messages and restrict certain content to their children when they use TikTok.

Screen Time Management in Feed will track the user’s TikTok time, this feature will give warnings when the time online on the application is too long.

While most teens won’t like parental controls using TikTok, this could be a necessary improvement of the social network. Especially, it can also be applied to some adults with social network addiction syndrome on smartphones.
