TV Ad Spend October 2024 – How Playstation Steals the Show

No doubt, Playstation is loved by millions of gamers. Yet the ads revenue put behind that great gaming world keeps growing. For some time, Playstation has been head over heels in spending on marketing. In this month of October 2018, it even increased its ads spending by pushing out ads worth an estimated $28 million USD.

Other big ads spenders are Nintendo, which takes number two but does not come close to Playstation in ad spends; others are Ubisoft, King, and Riot Games.

This findings come out through GamesBeat, a company that partnered with iSoft.tv to put out real-time TV ad measurement company with attention and conversion analytics from more than eight million smart TVs to bring monthly news reports on how gaming brands are spending.

The company also pushed out the results below for the biggest five gaming companies out there for us to see how much they spent on marketing in the month of October 2018.

It is recently revealed that TV spending has increased overall within the gaming industry in October 2018, reaching as far as nearly $62.7 million from September’s $53.5 million. A total of 28 gaming brands aired 100 commercials over 15,900 times as reported by GamesBeat, and these generated almost 3.7 billion TV ad impressions.

Playstation had 20 spots that ran over 2,600 times resulting in 1.2 billion TV ad impressions, estimated at $28 million outlay for October alone.

Nintendo gets number two with an estimated spending of $7.2 million on 17 ads that came up over 2,900 times and generated 517. 3 million impressions.

Next comes Ubisoft which had an estimated spend of $6 million in the third place. It aired four commercials 721 times and this resulted in 229.5 million impressions.

King is on the fourth place with an estimated TV ad spend of $5.5 million. It had only two spots that aired over 2,100 times and generated 430.8 million impressions.

On a final note is Riot Games estimated TV ad spend of $4.4 million on six ads that ran 565 times, creating 171.9 million impressions.

The above statistics shows how gaming industry is trying to catch the awareness of game fans worldwide. It could also on the other hand be telling us just how robust the industry has proved to be in recent times.
