UMIDIGI Z2 Pro arrives with 128GB Storage and Face ID

UMIDIGI Z2 Pro is the advanced version of the Z2 flagship smartphone we reviewed earlier. The smartphone will also be the world’s first 6.2-inch FHD+ top-notch flagship phone with its little sibling. Even though they both look-alike, a few upgrades have been done underneath.

Firstly, Umidigi ditched the Helio P23 chip on the Z2 and brought on the Helio P60 with 12nm FinFET process technology. There’s a bigger 128GB storage space onboard as well, however, the battery capacity has been surprisingly reduced. Lets find out more.

Design

UMIDIGI Z2 Pro

The Z2 Pro comes with the same Aluminium Alloy overall body and covered exquisitely in glass. The body is breathtakingly stunning and available in gradient colors, making it as premium as possible with sleek curved sides and edges.

The device reflects light in the most subtle way, you’ll be amazed when you’re out and about with it on a sunny day. It measures 8.3mm in thickness and weighs 165g, making it one of the lightest flagship smartphone. In terms of colouring, it’s available in Twilight, Phantom and Black colors.

Display

UMIDIGI Z2 Pro

The UMIDIGI Z2 Pro comes with the notched screen as well, just like the Z2. Even though modern notches have been reduced and now super minimal, UMIDIGI went the iPhone X way, making its notch very visible. This might be because it houses dual selfie camera.

The 6.2-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is more than perfect for big screen lovers. Boasting of 1080 x 2246 pixels in resolution and 403 pixel per inch density for breathtaking visuals. The screen has a Reading mode, Color temperature adjustment and stretches up to 85% screen to body ratio.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood, the Helio P60 from MediaTek reigns with an Octa-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-Cores of processor here reaches a fast clock speed of 2.0GHz with 12nm FinFET process technology. The ARM Mali G72 MP3 graphics processor is in total control of graphics and clocks at 800MHz.

Still has the same 6GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs, with a memory speed of over 1GHz as well. In the storage department, a bigger 128GB is now available to accommodate more files and you can upgrade up to 256GB anytime. The UMIDIGI Z2 Pro runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with stock Android.

Camera

There’s a 16MP + 8MP shooter combination at the rear. The Samsung cameras has f/2.0 aperture, 5-element lens, Low light enhancement, Panorama, Burst mode, Face recognition, Real-time filters, dual-LED flash and other quality features. Another 16MP + 8MP combination sits at the front as well with f/2.0 aperture, Selfie countdown, Face recognition and identification (Face ID). Yes, the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro records 4K videos as well.

Battery

Powering the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro is a 3650mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast and wireless charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 2 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
