UMIDIGI Z2 – World’s First 6.2-Inch FHD+ Top-Notch Flagship Phone

UMIDIGI Z2 has been launched by the Chinese company as the world’s first 6.2-inch FHD+ top-notch flagship phone. This is coming weeks after the company dominated the budget smartphone market with the A1 Pro.

Apart from coming with the popular notched screen, it houses the Helio P23 chip from MediaTek with an octa-core processor. Specs-wise, a combination of 6GB RAM and 128GB storage does the trick, with dual rear camera. Lets find out more.

Design

UMIDIGI Z2

The Z2 sports an Aluminium Alloy overall body and covered exquisitely in glass. This brings out the beauty of the device and makes it look as premium as ever. Thanks to the Gradient colors the company went for, the device reflects light beautifully and gives us a Huawei P20 vibe.

At the top middle, we can see how the rear features were lined up pretty nicely. The dual rear camera and fingerprint scanner are in a vertical position, while the LED flash sit beside the cameras. It measures 8.3mm in thickness and weighs 165g overall. It’s available in Twilight, Phantom and Black colors.

The top-notch display is here to stay obviously, and the notch on the Z2 is a little bigger than what we’ve seen of late. Nonetheless, it’s pretty attractive overall, with the bottom bezel coming out to play as well. Lets get into the details now, shall we?

The 6.2-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is more than perfect for big screen lovers. Boasting of 1080 x 2246 pixels in resolution and 403 pixel per inch density for breathtaking visuals. The screen has a Reading mode, Color temperature adjustment and stretches up to 85% screen to body ratio.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood, the Helio P23 from MediaTek reigns with an Octa-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-Cores of processor here reaches a smooth clock speed of 2.0GHz with 16nm process technology. The ARM Mali G71 MP2 graphics processor is in charge of graphics and clocks at 700MHz.

A massive 6GB of RAM is available for all your multitasking needs, it has a memory speed of over 1GHz as well. In the storage department, 64GB is available to store all files and you can upgrade up to 256GB anytime. The UMIDIGI Z2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with stock Android.

Camera

There’s a 16MP + 8MP shooter combination at the rear. The Samsung cameras has f/2.0 aperture, 5-element lens, Low light enhancement, Panorama, Burst mode, Face recognition, Real-time filters, dual-LED flash and other quality features. Another 16MP + 8MP combination sits at the front as well with f/2.0 aperture, Selfie countdown, Face recognition and identification (Face ID). Yes, the UMIDIGI Z2 records 4K videos as well.

Battery

Powering the UMIDIGI Z2 is a 4050mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 2 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
