US plans to provide help to more regions to purchase 5G infrastructure from Huawei rivals

As the days go by, the American government continues to increase its pressure on Chinese tech company, Huawei. A few weeks ago, the US government imposed a new sanction that stopped TSMC from supplying Huawei with chipsets. Now, it seems the US government has plans to fund more regions to enable them to select 5G telecom equipment from companies other than Huawei.

There were reports previously that The US government was funding telecom operators in Brazil to go for tech from Huawei’s rivals to build their 5G infrastructure. The world has been constantly making strides towards the newer and faster bandwidth and Huawei has been put under intense scrutiny from the US, despite the company being a pioneer in 5G networking.

A US official has revealed that the United States will also provide funds to other countries to help them finance purchases of 5G telecom infrastructure from Huawei rivals in the US. This is because the US government deems the Chinese company as a security threat due to its ties to the Chinese government. Huawei has played quite a pivotal role in helping many regions develop 5G infrastructure and this has been made possible by the lower-cost equipment from the company.

Before its rift with the US government began, Huawei already had plans to expand in Europe, the UK, and other regions as well. The company’s efforts have, however, been faced with many obstacles recently due to actions taken by the US government. Huawei has, however, denied these security-related allegations from the US.
