Now we are beginning to review 5G Android phones. 2019 promises to be a special year! The year of neo-tech and the announcement of Vivo Apex 2019 smartphone signals a new era. Granted, several smartphones have been said to be the first 5G Android phones in 2024 but it is actually the first to be released that will really clinch that title.

So another amazing thing about this Vivo Apex phone is that it will not have a headphone jack. It will also be an Android phone without micro-SD card and that is also amazing as we learn to do away with some things in 2024.

Design and Display of Vivo Apex 2019

Vivo Apex 2019 arrives in very beautiful glass body design. There are no holes, buttons and ports in this phone. It replaces physical buttons with pressure sensitive power and volume buttons. It comes in black, gray and white colors. Meanwhile, this phone has no waterproof protection, but it has fingerprint sensor but no face recognition technology.

Coupled with that, it is a 6.39 inches screen of Super AMOLED capacitive multi-touch screen phone, which comes without a secondary display but has display protection. Also, it sports 2340 x 1080 pixels of screen resolution. As well, there are 16 million colors, coupled with other nice features such as 2.5D curved glass, Corning Gorilla Glass, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

Camera Features

This phone is out with dual primary rear camera setup of 12 MP and 13 MP that comes with dual LED flash. Furthermore, at the front the selfie camera we have no data. However, the video performance in the device is 2160p and 1080p.

Then, the camera features in the phone are as follows- Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, auto focus, HDR, and other features.

Hardware & Software

Also, Vivo Apex 2019 also sports Android v9.0 Pie on Funtouch OS 4.5 as the operating system inside. Notably, the device comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. Moreover, the CPU is 1 x 2.84 GHz Octa-core, and the GPU is simply Adreno 640.

Storage Capacity and Sensors

In this, there is 12GB RAM which cannot be expanded. Since there is no micro-SD card usage here, the internal storage sits at 512GB. Also, note that there are nine sensors in the phone and they are accelerometer, proximity, compass, fingerprint, gyro, photosensitive, hall effect, pressure, and light.

Network and Connectivity

This Vivo Apex 2019 is supported by GSM, CDMA, TD-SCDMA, HSPA and LTE networks. In view of this, it has 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G (eSIM only) available for connectivity purposes. This makes it a 5G mobile device that has dual nano SIM and eSIM card slots.

Furthermore, Vivo Apex 2019 also boasts of Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, NFC, headphone jack and micro USB Type C. Clearly, there is no HDMI, headphone port, and infrared in this device.

Battery Life in Vivo Apex 2019

The battery is a Li-Po 3900 mAh non-removable battery. The battery has wireless charging but probably no fast charging technology. Talk time and standby time are not specified yet.
