The Vivo V9 Plus was unveiled in Indonesia as the Vivo V9 6GB because to its massive 6GB of RAM. However, the device will be available globally as the Vivo V9 Plus and will be hitting shopping stores soon.
The V9 Plus is also equipped with the more advanced Snapdragon 660 chipset from Qualcomm which is more power efficient compared to the Snapdragon 626 on the V9. There’s 64GB storage space and dual rear camera. Lets find out more.
Design
The V9 Plus looks almost identical to the V9 smartphone that was revealed first by the company. It has an aluminium alloy overall unibody with gold finishing touches in some places. The dual camera vertical placement is also very trendy at the top left corner.
There’s a dual-LED flash underneath the camera as well, while the fingerprint scanner is in its usual position for quick biometric access. It measures 7.9mm in thickness and weighs just 150g overall. It’s available in only Black and Red colors as well.
Display
Just as we saw on the V9, you also get a notched screen at the front as well. The notch on the V9 Plus is very minimal compared to most notches we have seen on modern day smartphones. Additionally, the bottom chin is also very thick as well.
A tall 6.3-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen interprets what’s going on underneath. It boasts of 1080 x 2280 pixels in resolution and 400 pixel per inch density. Impressively, the screen stretches up to 85.3% screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Vivo brought on the much powerful Snapdragon 660 chip from Qualcomm here. Nonetheless, it was also built on a 14nm process technology and has 8-cores of processor which clocks at 2.2GHz. While the Adreno 512 graphics card handles graphics.
The V9 Plus brings along a massive 6GB RAM space for heavy multitasking, this RAM space has a memory speed of over 1GHz as well. Although, the storage space still remains the same at 64GB and you can upgrade up to 256GB using a memory card. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch OS 4.0.
Camera
The dual camera at the back consists of 13MP + 2MP shooters. The 13MP camera has f/2.2 aperture and phase detection autofocus, while the 2MP camera acts as the depth sensor for portrait mode. The camera comes with a dual-LED flash and other Internal features like touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. It also shoots 4K videos @30fps, while the 12MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture, 1.28µm pixel size and supports Face ID.
Battery
Powering the Vivo V9 Plus is a 3260mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2 hours.
