Walton Primo F7s is now available for sale, the budget friendly smartphone was released on the 11th of February. The device comes with low-level specifications for low-class individuals or those on extreme budget.
The company are known for producing budget Smartphones, but this is way more cheaper to be honest. Don’t expect magic with this phone, its only for light users. But does it give value for money? Well, we’ll soon find out.
Design
Made from plastic with a rough-and-ready back, reminds me of Tecno W3. No fingerprint scanner at the back, so I’m guessing it doesn’t come with the feature. Only the Walton logo is visible in the middle, with the Primo inscription at the extreme bottom. The rear camera and LED flash are really in a unique position, one that is not that common.
A diagonal format to the left, with the camera coming first and the LED flash underneath. Moving to the sides, the volume keys and power button is in the usual position. It’s quite bulky for a smartphone with little battery capacity, measuring 9.7 mm and weighing 172g. Its available in so many beautiful colors as well like Gold, Gray, Black and Silver.
Display
Turning over to the screen, it’s now apparent that it has no fingerprint scanner. The bottom bezel houses three navigation buttons, while the top houses the selfie camera, LED flash, speaker grille and ambient light sensor.
The 5.2-inch FWVGA IPS capacitive touchscreen boasts of a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The visuals will just be moderate with 188 pixel per inch density, as the screen reached 67.38% screen to body ratio. It offers scratch resistant as well thanks to the curved glass protecting it.
Hardware and Software
Working behind the device is the MediaTek MT6580M chip with Quad-core processor clocking at 1.3 GHz. It has a 32-bit CPU architecture, 28nm process technology and an ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics processor is in charge of everything graphics. The graphics processor reaches a clock speed of 416MHz.
For light multitasking, it has just 1GB RAM space with a memory speed of 533MHz. 8GB storage space is also available to accommodate all your files and games, upgradeable up to 64GB using a memory card. The Primo F7s runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with modified UI.
Camera
There’s a standard 5MP rear shooter that captures photographs with 2582 x 1936 pixels in dimension. The camera comes with a LED flash and other quality features as well to take 2K resolution images. Record videos of 720pixels at 30 frames per second, and take selfies with the other 5MP shooter at the front. The selfie camera comes with a LED flash for bright selfies in dark places or video calls in low light environment.
Battery
Powering the Primo F7s up is a 2250mAh removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology support. Nevertheless, it shouldn’t take more than 2 hours to fully charge up the little capacity battery.
