The Tommy 3 is a budget friendly smartphone announced at the event as well for those on a tight budget. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition, the Go Edition of the Oreo operating system was made specially for Android smartphones with 1GB RAM or lower. Want to know more about the Tommy 3? Design
Sports a plastic removable back just like most budget smartphone these days. There’s a rear loudspeaker at the bottom corner for extremely loud music, with no fingerprint scanner in sight. Only the Wiko logo is visible at the middle, while the rear camera and LED flash are in a horizontal position at the top left corner.
From afar, it looks like it comes with the trending dual rear camera but that’s not the case here. Moving to the sides, it measures 9.3 mm slim and doesn’t weigh up to 200g. You can get the Wiko Tommy 3 in Black, Gold, Red and Blue colors.
Display
Budget smartphones are coming with bezel-less display this mobile season, but Wiko Tommy 3 has lots of bezels. Even though the screen got up to 72% screen to body ratio, with tiny narrow bezels, i still think the bezels are still much.
Nevertheless, it’s a budget smartphone so the 5.45-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is just there. With a disappointing resolution of 480 x 960 pixels and 197 pixel per inch density. But look on the bright side, it has an 18:9 aspect ratio and Full View display.
Hardware and Software
It houses the MediaTek MT6739 chipset with 4-cores of processor, the Quad-core processor reaches a speed of 1.3GHz. It has a 64-bit CPU architecture, 28nm process technology and PowerVR GE8100 graphics processor. The graphics processor runs at a speed of 570MHz.
For multitasking, there’s just 1GB of RAM with a memory speed of 677MHz for light multitasking. For storing files, 16GB storage space is available, if it isn’t enough you can upgrade up to 128GB with a memory card. As stated above, the Tommy 3 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition with modified user interface.
Camera
Just a single 8MP rear camera here, capturing just 3k resolution images. There’s a dual-LED flash beside it and other quality features in the camera which helps in taking photographs with 3264 x 2448 pixels. Record videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second and take cute selfies with the 5MP selfie camera.
Battery
Powering the Wiko Tommy 3 is a 2500mAh removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 2.3 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
