The Wiko View Max was launched alongside the Wiko View 2 and Wiko View 2 Pro in Barcelona at the 2018 Mobile World Congress. Unlike both devices listed above, the View Max is bezel-less but with no top-notch.
The bezel-less display with top-notch was rampant at the MWC, even Wiko followed suit. But Wiko couldn’t make all their devices look the same right? The View Max is for users who don’t like the top-notch trend, packing 3GB of RAM, 32GB storage and 4000mAh battery. Want to know more? Stay with me.
Design
It’s a budget smartphone so it sports a plastic back with a smooth design. There’s a rear loudspeaker at the bottom corner for extremely loud music and quality bass. The rear fingerprint scanner is also at the middle as well for fast access to the phone and private apps.
The rear camera and LED flash are in a vertical position, just like what we saw im their View 2 smartphone. Moving to the sides, where the volume keys and power button are present, it measures just 8.1 mm in thickness which is considerably fair for a budget smartphone. Weighing 155g overall and available in Black, Gold, Red and Blue colors.
Display
It doesn’t come with the trending top-notch but it is impressively bezel-less. The screen boasts of 78% screen to body ratio with super minimal bezels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It has no physical navigation buttons at the bottom bezel, while the top bezel houses the usual features.
The 6-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is pretty standard, boasting of 720 x 1440 pixels in resolution. The details on the screen should come out great with 268 pixel per inch density. The multi-touch screen has a full lamination technology, while a 2.5D curved glass protects it all.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6739W chipset with 4-cores of processor. The Quad-core processor reaches a maximum speed of 1.5 GHz for a smooth ride. It has a 64-bit CPU architecture underneath, boasts of a PowerVR GE8100 graphics processor and 28nm process technology.
Handling multitasking is the 3GB RAM space that reaches a maximum speed of 677 MHz. For storing files, 32GB is available to accommodate it all. If that isn’t enough, you can always upgrade up to 128GB using a memory card. The View Max runs on the new Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with modified user interface.
Camera
Just one camera at the back here, a 13MP shooter that captures 4K resolution images. It comes with a LED flash and other features which helps in taking photographs of 4160 x 3120 pixels in dimension. At the front, there’s a super sharp 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture for cute selfies.
Battery
Giving life to the Wiko View Max is a 4000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. Typically, it shouldn’t take up to 3.2 hours to charge the battery from 0% to 100%.
