Xiaomi, the smartphone maker has revealed to fans that it is interested in proving its mettle. Now, Black Shark, a newfound category of smartphones created by Xiaomi in April 2018 is taking things up a notch! The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 packs all the specifications that a mobile gaming fan would love.
Xiaomi Black Shark Helo has also been released with 10GB of RAM and that’s amazing because anything like that has not been seen yet. It is not the end however, as more will come from the stable of Xiaomi.
Make no mistake about it, this device looks somewhat like the Xiaomi Black Shark Helo. However, inside of it is quite different. Can you spot the difference? Let’s see.
Design and Display of Xiaomi Black Shark 2
The screen size of Xiaomi Black Shark 2 is 6.01 inches. Display type is IPS LCD capacitive touch screen with multi-touch up to 10 fingers (Other reviews suggest the smartphone will arrive with AMOLED screen). The pixel density is 402 pixels per inch, screen to body ratio is 77.5 percent, and aspect ratio is 18:9. For now, this device comes only in black color.
Dimensions of Xiaomi Black Shark 2 are 160 x 75.2 x 8.7 mm. Furthermore, it weighs 190 grams, which shows it is a little bit heavy. It comes in 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution of 16 million colors.
Camera Features
In the camera department, there is dual camera setup of 16MP and 20 MP. Sure these come with Dual LED flash capabilities. Apart from that, there other features such as digital zoom, touch to focus and other very good features that makes the cameras work at optimum level.
That’s for the primary camera. For the secondary camera, which is known as selfie camera, it comes with 20 MP which has no flash capacities. However, it is blessed with f/2.2 aperture.
Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Hardware and Software
Android v8.1 Oreo is the operating system in the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 smartphone. This will be able to upgrade to the latest Android 9 Pie. Also, there is Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset working with 2.8 GHz Quad core, Kryo 385 and another 1,8 GHz Quad core, Kryo 385. This signifies two variants of Xiaomi Black Shark 2. In addition, GPU is Adreno 630 8-Cores. The architecture is 64-bit. Out of all other sensors, there is also the rear fingerprint sensor which offers a measure of protection.
Storage capacities
There are two variants of Xiaomi Black Shark 2 just as it showed up in the hardware specifications. For storage capacities there is a confirmed 6GB of RAM coupled with 128GB of internal storage. It is also known that a variant of 8GB of RAM with the same 128GB internal storage will be released. However, things are not confirmed yet.
Network and Connectivity
Xiaomi Black Shark 2 will have all the popular networks such as 2G, 3G, and 4G, suggesting that it is a versatile device. Also, there other connectivity components such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, microUSB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack and more. There is also dual SIM slots to make network connectivity a breeze.

Price and Availability
Black Shark 2 6GB RAM variant was priced at Rs. 31,800 and the 8GB RAM variant was priced at Rs. 37,100. The official release date of Black Shark 2 is unknown but speculations but it somewhere around December 2018. At that time, we will able to offer more updates regarding the Black Shark 2.
