However, in terms of numbers, that is, smartphones sold, everything indicates that even Xiaomi has already been able to overtake the cracked apple giant.
Xiaomi has sold more smartphones than Apple in the past 3 months!
So, it seems, in the third quarter of 2020, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi was even able to steal the crown from Apple. That is, for the first time in the history of the smartphone market, Apple was overtaken by another manufacturer, in this case, Xiaomi.
Thus, Xiaomi has a market share of 12.1%, having managed to sell 44.4 million devices in the third quarter. Meanwhile, Apple now has an 11.1% market share, managing to sell 40.6 million units.
In short, the difference is not at all special … But we must note Xiaomi’s explosive growth in the smartphone market. After all, last year, the company had only 8.5% market share. In other words, we are talking about an increase in sales of around 35% in this pandemic time! This at the same time that Apple also tried to attack the market which is basically Xiaomi’s ‘bread and butter’, the middle range.
