Xiaomi Redmi 4X Low Budget Android Smartphone Specs Review

The new smartphone from Xiaomi is a practical proposition that many people can afford at a go with a decent design at that. Although it is not the cheapest Android device on the market at the moment but offers a wonderful camera at this price range. The Xiomi Redmi 4X is one of the most affordable devices at a price like this that provides such decent features. However, the market is competitive now with smartphones from different Chinese startups that offers a decent amount of features.

Xiomi Redmi 4X is a low-end smartphone and comes with an affordable price one that is capable of competing with the Chinese pocket-friendly phones.

DESIGN AND DISPLAY

The Redmi 4X has an appealing, bold design which is similar to the ones you have in Xiaomi’s Redmi line of smartphone. However, there are a few differences in the design. The stunning design is more visible when you look at it from the top. For more comfortable handling, the sides are curved at the front and the back.

Although the Redmi 4X is made of carbon fibre casing cover at the top and bottom on the back of the device which gives it an expensive look. The phone is also quite slim at just 8.7mm thick with a thin screen to go along and did I mention there is a Corning Gorilla Glass here so you might not need to get a screen guard. [eafl id=”24789″ name=”Jumia NG Screen Protectors” text=”Screen Protectors Price Offers, Click HERE”]

However, the Redmi 4X does have a fingerprint scanner mounted at the back but does not have 1080p resolution common to most high-end Redmi smartphones. There is a single camera at the top left corner on the back of the device and a flash just beside it. The power button and volume button is on the right side of the device and a dual nano sim slot at the left side. While the 3.5mm audio jack and noise cancellation hole are located at the top of the device.

The smartphone has a dimension of 139.2 x 70mm and weighs 150g which is not that bad. The screen has a 5-inches 1280 x 720 resolution, a pixel density of 320ppi with and a maximum brightness of about 400nits which is not the best but does the job. However, viewing under sunlight or high-resolution images might prove a little bit tricky, and if you have a thing for 1080p display then you might want to look further.

CPU, OS AND STORAGE

The Redmi 4X features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 CPU alongside a 2GB RAM, an Adreno 505 GPU and an octa-core Cortex A53 which clocks at 1.4GHz. This is okay for running some app but lag when it comes to high demanding apps. It also runs on Android 6.0 with custom-made Redmi UI which is more like pre 6.0 design and also a 16GB ROM. It supports a microSD card which can be used to extend the memory up to 128GB.

BATTERY AND CAMERA

The battery is an average 4000mAh which is a pretty good one thanks to the 720p display and to last for about 3-4 days on a moderate usage. It features a 13MP rear camera which is one of the best at this price and a 5MP selfie camera.
