Xiaomi has updated the evergreen Redmi series with the launch of the Redmi 7A in China. The phone is the successor to the Redmi 6A which was launched last year and it comes in Black and Blue color options.
The Xiaomi Redmi 7A adopts a polycarbonate body and even has the splash-resistant P2i coating on the screen. Xiaomi says the device has a Family Guardian app with SOS Emergency Help option which will limit kids’ access to some websites and also restrict them from using the phone. The cell phone likewise comes with minimalist mode for older persons or those with visual impairment. The mode features large icons, simplified MIUI features, 20% more call volume. There is also an FM Radio that can work without connecting a headset as the antenna.

The Xiaomi Redmi 7A sports a 5.45-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720×1440 pixel goals. The mobile phone is fueled by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor and runs Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10. The device has 16GB/32GB of storage that can be extended up to 256GB by including a microSD card. The device also has dual SIM slots.
For photography, the phone features a single 13MP rear camera with LED flash. The front camera is a 5MP sensor. There is no front or rear fingerprint sensor. There is equally an impressive 4000mAh battery inside the device. Other features on the device include dual 4G, VoLTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
Xiaomi is yet to announce the pricing and release details of the Redmi 7A.
