In December 2017, Qualcomm presented it’s Snapdragon 845 mobile platform at the Snapdragon Tech Summit event. During the same event, Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, confirmed that the company’s next flagship would be the Xiaomi Mi 7 and that it would be powered by this new chipset launched by Qualcomm.
Since Xiaomi is one of the exhibitors at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, an event that will be held between February 26 and March 1, it seems that the company can use this technology display platform to announce its next Smartphone badge, the Mi 7.
Would Xiaomi be planning to announce the Xiaomi Mi 7?
The official website of the Mobile World Congress confirms that Xiaomi will attend the event as one of the exhibitors. Lei Jun had previously confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 7 would be revealed during the Chinese spring season, indicating that it could be announced in late February or early March. Therefore, Xiaomi fans now speculate that the company can announce the Mi 7 at MWC 2018.
On the other hand, Samsung is also expected to announce the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + smartphones equipped with Snapdragon 845 at the MWC 2018. Even Sony is determined to debut next to the Xperia XZ Pro smartphone driven by the same mobile platform in the same technology commerce event. However, by announcing Mi 7 at MWC 2018, Xiaomi could become the first Chinese manufacturer to launch a phone powered by the Snapdragon 845.
Rumors surrounding this Xiaomi device
Lei Jun has recently confirmed that, given that the company will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in 2023, its next smartphones will be equipped with artificial intelligence. It is speculated that the dual camera configuration of the Mi 7 will be optimized with AI to offer a stellar photography experience. In addition, the Xiaomi Mi 7 will be the company’s first smartphone to provide the wireless charging function. The rumor has revealed that Xiaomi can announce a version of the expected Mi 7, during the same event.
