Zero Day Flow Has Been Detected In Firefox Browser – Update Now To Fix This!

The Developers of the Mozilla Firefox browsers have come to know about a flaw named as ‘zero-day‘ in the Mozilla browser and due to which the company has issued a warning regarding this flaw. The developers have also mentioned that this flaw is getting exploited by hackers.

But you don’t need to worry about this because the company has launched an emergency patch to fix the zero-day flaw so that hackers won’t able to get the advantage of it. This flaw was first detected by Google’s Project Zero security team.

The team passed the following statement regarding the vulnerability, ” A type confusion vulnerability can occur when manipulating javascript objects due to issues in Array.pop. This can allow for an exploitable crash. We are aware of targeted attacks in the wild abusing this flaw”.

Note that all the versions of Mozilla Firefox browsers below 67.0.3 or ESR 60.71 are subject to the zero-day vulnerability. The only solution to fix this is to update your Firefox browser as soon as possible.

How To Update & Fix This Issue?

The patch is included in the latest browser update. So follow the steps below to update your browser:

  • Open the browser and make sure that the desktop/laptop is connected to the Internet.
  • Now click on the hamburger icon present on the upper-right hand corner.
  • Enter ‘Update’ in the search box.
  • Now finally click on ‘Restart to update Firefox’.
  • Done.

You can also fix this issue by downloading from here and installing the setup file of the newer version of Firefox browser. It is still a mystery that what the hackers are actually aiming at by exploiting this flaw. But sources suggest that stealing cryptocurrency might be one of the main reason.
