ZTE Axon 9 with Dual 20MP + 20MP Rear Camera – Review, Full Specs and Price

The ZTE Axon 9 will be launched during the 2018 Mobile World Congress with four crystal clear cameras. The flagship device sports 20MP + 20MP dual rear shooters and 13MP + 13MP dual selfie camera as well. Apart from its photography prowess, it houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 MSM8998 chip. ZTE aren’t here to play this year, they mean business with the Axon 9. But will the device be worth it? Lets find out.

Design

ZTE Axon 9

Made from Aluminium Alloy and designed to perfection, the Axon 9 is a beauty to behold and hold. It has a glass back that protects the aluminum cover and also reflects light beautifully. The dual rear shooters wants to look like the trending iPhone X-Like camera, but the dual-LED flash was taken out of that position.

Nevertheless, it gives a unique vibe as the dual-LED flash is now beside the vertical placed cameras at the top middle. Moving on to the sides, where the volume keys and power button is, it measures between 7.5mm to 8.5mm slim. The smartphone will only be available in Blue, Gold and Black colors, no words yet if ZTE will roll out more colors for the Axon 9.

Display

A flagship device that’s bezel-less, well that’s so typical these days. However, there’s something different about the screen though, it has three navigation buttons at the bottom bezel after reaching 80% screen to body ratio. Now, that’s impressive. When reviewing the back, there was no fingerprint scanner in sight.

Furthermore, the fingerprint scanner is under the screen. Speaking of screens, the 6-inch QHD+ AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is brilliant. It boasts of 2960 x 1440 pixels in resolution and an incredible 549 pixel per inch density, for immersive visuals. Watching movies and playing games on this device should really interesting. Protecting the multi-touch screen is the Corning Gorilla Glass 5, offering scratch resistant as well.

Hardware and Software

A beast lives in this device, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with Octa-core processor offers brilliant overall performance. The processor reaches a clock speed of 2.8 GHz, boasts of a 64-bit CPU architecture and 10nm process technology. In the graphics department, Qualcomm Adreno 630 graphics processor is fully in charge.

In terms of RAM space, there are two versions, one with 4GB and another with 6GB. Both reaches a memory speed of 1866MHz for fast and smooth multitasking even with heavy apps. In terms of internal storage space, there are three versions, one with 64GB another with 128GB and a much expensive version with 256GB. The Axon 9 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with MiFavor user interface.

Camera

Four cameras, two at the front, two at the back. Where do you start from? The dual rear 20MP + 20MP camera with f/1.7 aperture captures 5K resolution images. The camera comes with so many quality features and dual-LED flash that takes photographs of up to 5120 x 3840 pixels in dimension. Take beautiful selfies from all angles with the dual 13MP + 13MP selfie shooters.

Battery

The ZTE Axon 9 houses a 3500mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology support. Fully charge the battery from 0% to 100% in just 1.5 hours, thanks to the fast charging feature.
