The ZTE Nubia Red Magic is now official, the company collaborated with Red Magic to launch this gaming smartphone with a rugged-like body. This is coming days after the United States banned ZTE from purchasing Qualcomm chips for seven years.

Design

Looking like a Sumarai weapon from the rear, thanks to its exquisite and unique design. Another highlight here is the NEG Dinorex T2X-1 which the entire device is covered with, offering scratch and shock resistant. However, the device is NOT water or splash resistant but it’s stronger than most smartphones with IP67 certifications.

This looks way more attractive than Xiaomi’s Black Shark, thanks to the tall LED light at the rear. The dual antenna lines also adds to the beauty as well, with the rear camera, LED flash and fingerprint scanner. It measures 9.5 mm in thickness, which is really slim for a gaming smartphone. Weighing 185g overall and available in Red and Black colors.

The Gaming Phablet dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio, with super minimal bezels, giving gamers the Full View experience while playing games. There’s also a Dinorex T2X-1 glass at the front, offering scratch and shock resistant as well from this side.

Furthermore, the 6-inch FHD+ LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen should bring all your games to live. With a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 402 pixels per inch density, enjoy gaming with a sharp screen. The screen stretches up to 78.5% screen to body ratio and has low-temperature polysilicon.

Hardware and Software

Houses the Snapdragon 835 chip from Qualcomm with Octa-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture as well. The 8-cores of processor here runs at an impressive clock speed of 2.35GHz with 16nm process technology. Administrating graphics is the Adreno 540 graphics processor from Qualcomm.

There are two versions in terms of RAM and internal storage space. The standard version comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage space, while the cheaper variant has 6GB RAM and 64GB storage space as well. The RAM space reaches a memory speed of over 1.6GHz, while the internal storage is not upgradeable. The Nubia Red Magic runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with a new user interface from Red Magic.

Camera

The modern-day gaming smartphones now come with great cameras and the ZTE Nubia Red Magic didn’t disappoint in this department. The 24MP rear shooter with f/1.7 aperture takes beautiful photographs even in low light areas. Features on the camera include phase detection, autofocus, LED flash, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama, and others. With the device, videos of 2160 pixels can be records at 30fps, while the 8MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture.

Powering the ZTE Nubia Red Magic is a 3800mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 1.9 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
