Apple iPhone XI vs iPhone X – Spot the Difference

iPhone X and XI devices are very magnificent. Both are to take the world by storm, or so mobile phone experts say…

For most people, iPhone X is just that but iPhone XI is also known as iPhone 11 or iPhone X2. The former was released in 2024 while the latter is to be released soon this year. September has been named the month that Apple will release iPhone XI.

Take the iPhone X for example; it has a stainless steel core with a glassy front and back which allows for wireless charging. There’s also a dual camera to the rear, a notch at the top toward front display but a Touch ID is missing.

iPhone X comes in Space Grey and silver color measures 143.6 x 70.9 x 7.7mm and weighs 174 grams. It is IP67 water and dust resistant. Very nice!

iPhone XI is expected to have the same relative design to iPhone X. The stainless steel core may remain, the glass rear and front may be similar, but the notch at the top may reduce slightly and there will be some changes to Wi-Fi and cellular transmissions. Probably, the IP67 water and dust resistance will remain the same.

Apple iPhone X and XI Review – The Display

Judging by the analysis above, both will apparently feature 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch screen size, having OLED panel design which has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, with the same resolution. That means that both will have a resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels and a pixel density of 458ppi.

Apple iPhone X and XI Review – The Hardware

The iPhone X is powered with the A11 Bionic chip with 64-bit architecture, an embedded M11 motion coprocessor. It’s got two storage options – 64GB and 256GB. These can’t be increased as the device has no place for microSD card.

Talking about other hardware, the iPhone X has Bluetooth 5.0, 802.11ac Wi-Fi with MIMO and there’s no headphone jack. But battery life is really powerful, offering up to 21 hours talk-time capacity. You can charge the battery through wireless and it also offers fast charge.

The iPhone XI will definitely remain the same in most of these features except for the storage which will likely increase; probably starting at 128GB. There will also not be the need for microSD support.

Apple iPhone X and XI Review – Camera Capacities

The dual rear camera in iPhone X is made up of 12-megapixel sensors, one with an aperture of f/1.8 and the other with an aperture of f/2.4 and there’s the 4K video recording capacity.

The front camera is a 7-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 and it features Animoji and portrait mode. iPhone X1 may be bigger a bit in these features but we cannot tell yet.

Apple iPhone X and XI Review – Software

Apple iPhone X runs on iOS 11 but iPhone X1 will definitely come with iOS 12. Expect improvements in photos, Siri and ARKit and other stuff. It doesn’t mean that the performance here will present a marked difference though.

Conclusion

It appears that there will not be very great differences between the iPhone X and XI. iPhone X sells for $999 and it is expected that XI sells for more but close to that price. For performance, expect more from XI. Finally, be rest assured that you may not bother about damaging your iPhone XI when you use it in the rain.
