And this leak did not come from any source. In fact, it was from ASUS itself. Is that the official Twitter account of Asus ROG accidentally published a teaser that was immediately deleted. The 5-second video shows the ROG logo on the ASUS Rog Phone 3 with a tag alluding to the SD865 + processor at the top. The teaser clearly mentions “the most powerful gaming smartphone to date”.

The video clearly talks about the long-awaited ROG Phone 3 gaming smartphone. This is not the first time we’ve heard of a device with this chipset. Several earlier rumors pointed to the updated version of the SD865 chipset. This is not surprising, considering that the ROG smartphone range tends to come with the most powerful chipset available on the market.
Now considering that Qualcomm has now launched the Snapdragon 865+ chipset this turns out not to be a big surprise. Offers a 10% improvement over the standard variant. It is also the first Qualcomm chipset to overcome the 3GHz speed limit. It also uses FastConnect 6900 which supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 with adaptable apt X. On the other hand, the chipset still uses the same X55 modem for 5G connectivity.

Looking at the images, the design is very similar to the previous generation, the ROG Gaming Phone 2.
The rear panel maintains the LED ROG logo, but also with the new Tencent Games brand on the bottom. Unlike its predecessor, however, it has more subtle lines and the finish looks much more polished and shiny.
