BQ is getting ready to release the BQ Aquaris VS on the 14th of February. It looks like a midrange smartphone, but there’s a much expensive version with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage space. The simple device will be very affordable when launched, as we know BQ smartphones are always budget friendly. Without further ado, meet the BQ Aquaris VS.

Design
Made from both Metal and Polycarbonate to achieve this beauty of a device. Less they say is more, and i love how simple yet sophisticated the back looks. It sports a rear fingerprint scanner, which is on top the BQ logo, while the rear camera is on top the fingerprint scanner.

The rear camera has a dual-LED flash right beside it to complete the features at the back. It measures 8.4mm in thickness making it quite easy to operate while holding it, weighing 165g as well. Its available in two premium colors only, which is Gold and Black.
Display
Most midrange smartphone comes with a bezel-less screen these days. So it’s quite disappointing seeing the Aquaris VS with lots of bezels. It sports the typical three navigation buttons at the bottom bezel, while the selfie camera and LED flash sits at the top. The 5.2-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is just a midrange screen. Boasting of 1280×720 pixels in resolution and 282 pixel per inch density.
There’s also a Color LED light for notification at the top bezel if you look closely. The multi-touch screen is
scratch resistant, thanks to the 2.5D curved glass screen. It has a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 520 cd/m2, 72% NTSC and a viewing angle of about 178°. The screen which reached just 69% screen to body ratio boasts of a GFF full lamination and a NEG Dinorex T2X-1 Glass.
Hardware and Software
Doing its work underneath is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 MSM8937 chip with Octa-core processor. The processor boasts of a maximum speed of 1.4GHz, with 28nm process technology and 64-bit CPU architecture. The Qualcomm Adreno 505 graphics processor is in charge of everything graphics here.
For multitasking, there are two versions, one with 4GB RAM space a cheaper variant with 3GB RAM. Both RAM space reaches a memory speed of 800 MHz for fast and smooth multitasking. There are two versions of internal storage space as well, one with 64GB and a much affordable variant with 32GB. Both versions are upgradeable up to 256GB by putting a memory card into the sim 2 slot. The Aquaris VS runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system and should be upgradeable to Android 8.0 Oreo.
Camera
The 12MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture is very sharp, capturing 4K resolution images. Photographs can go as high as 4032 x 3024 pixels in dimension when taken with the Aquaris VS. It comes with dual-LED flash by the side and lots of other features to help take your photography prowess to another level.
Record videos of 1080pixels @ 30 frames per second with the Aquaris VS. At the front, there’s an 8MP with F/2.0 aperture, 4P Lens and 0.98 µm/pixel. The selfie camera is a Samsung S5K4H8 CMOS BSI Sensor, it comes with a dedicated LED Flash as well.
Battery
BQ Aquaris VS is powered by a 3100mAh Non-removable Li-Po battery, with fast battery charging feature. With the fast charging technology, it shouldn’t take more than 1.8 hours to boost the battery from 0% to 100%.
