Design
It sports an overall plastic unibody, and looks stunning for a budget smartphone. The way the antenna went above the rear features definitely adds to the beauty of the device. The rear camera sits at the top left corner with the LED flash right beside it.
The BQ logo is at the middle, with no fingerprint scanner in sight, while the ‘RICH’ inscription is at the bottom middle. Moving to the sides now, it measures 8.6 mm slim, and weighs 155g overall. The device is available in Gold, Black, Blue and Red colors which looks great with the design.
Display
Lots of bezels are obviously at the front here, since it’s a budget smartphone. Take a look at the bottom bezel how big it is, but at least there’s a physical home button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner on it. The top bezel houses the selfie camera, a front LED flash, the speaker triple and the ambient light sensor.
The portable 5-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen boasts of 1280 x 720 pixels in resolution and 294 pixel per inch density. The multi-touch screen stretched up to 66.6% screen to body ratio and offers scratch resistant. The screen should display clear visuals which is impressive for a budget device like this.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6737 chipset with Quad-core processor. The processor on this device reaches a clock speed of 1.3 GHz with 64-bit CPU architecture and 28nm process technology. The graphics processor in charge of everything graphics is the ARM Mali-T720 MP2 processor reaching a speed of 550 MHz.
Multitask light apps with just 1GB of RAM space, the RAM reaches a memory speed of 640MHz. For storage, there’s only 8GB of internal storage space, which of course is upgradeable up to 32GB using microSD. The 5012L Rich smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.
Camera
The rear camera is an 8MP shooter that captures 3K resolution images, all photographs taken with the 5012L Rich boasts of 3266 x 2449 pixels in dimension. It comes with a LED flash and other quality features like autofocus, touch focus and the rest. Take selfies with the 5MP front camera, the camera comes with a front LED flash as well. You can also record videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second.
Battery
Powering the BQ Mobile BQ-5012L Rich is a 2400mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology support. It shouldn’t take long to fully charge up the 2400mAh battery, not more than 2 hours tops.
