Creating Link Between Amazon’s Ring Home Security & Amazon’s Echo Smart Speakers

Amazon’s Ring Home Security and Amazon’s Echo Smart Speakers do not work together but latest reports are linking both tech products together. What Amazon wants to do is ‘tie’ them together, sort of. It is said that users will be able to arm, disarm, and check the status of some Ring, ADT, Honeywell, Abode, and Scout security systems just by asking Alexa to comply.

Some users are seriously considering the new functionality although the facts about it are not clear yet.

But sources say that link between Amazon’s Ring Home Security and Amazon’s Echo Smart Speakers will be a simple one, easy to accomplish. In the United States, this feat will be effortlessly done following a set of commands.

The setting could look something like the following:

Alexa + Arm Ring

Alexa + set Ring to Home / Away

Alexa, is Ring armed?

Alexa, disarm Ring

The user must be able to tell which window, or door sensors have been tripped. And ah, yes, he or she may not need to open app and wait for it to connect. However, it is good to know that the disarm command only works if the user explicitly enables it in the skill’s settings page and also say the pin.

It must be pin not just anyone can detect and give as command to Alexa, or a burglar could just say the command and disable the Ring.

The company is also trying to do more. It has invited some guests over for a preview of its Alexa Guard feature which enables Alexa the ability to listen for a glass window breaking, a smoke or some kind of unwanted occurrences, anything that needs to alert the owner.

Because Ring does not offer break sensors yet, these may just come in very handy.

Another cool choice is to sign up for notification about when you can try Alexa Guard. However, it will be nice to mention that you can use an Echo as an extra doorbell chime as well. Alexa can even show the Ring Doorbell video feed on an Echo Show or Fire TV.
