Doogee X50L is another entry-level smartphone from the Chinese OEM. This is an update to the X50 budget friendly smartphone which the company released a couple of months ago. The X50L comes with a bigger internal storage capacity as well as enhanced features.
Apart from coming with a bigger internal storage space, the X50L is the most affordable smartphone that comes with dual rear camera and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition. It has a Quad-Core processor and supports 4G LTE as well. Lets find out more.
Design
The Doogee X50L sports a Plastic back that’s removable to input battery and change SIMs as usual. It’s quite attractive for a budget smartphone retailing at this price. There’s no rear fingerprint scanner in sight, which means it didn’t come with the feature.
At the top left corner sits one of the highlights of the device, the dual rear shooters. The cameras are in the iPhone X-like position with the LED flash sitting in between. It measures 8.6mm in thickness and weighs 193g overall, you can get in Black, Blue and Gold colors.
Display
The X50L has a little reduction in bezels but not what was expected. The device still comes with huge top and bottom bezels. The bottom bezel houses three navigation buttons, none of which is a fingerprint scanner, while the top accommodates the usual features.
The 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen might be a little small, but it’s not that bad as well. The screen has a resolution of 480 x 960 pixels and 215 pixel per inch density, for the standard visuals as a budget device. The screen stretches up to 63% screen to body ratio with a Dragontrail Glass on top.
Hardware and Software
It houses the MediaTek MT6737V chip with Quad-Core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 4-Cores of processor here clocks at a slow pace of 1.25GHz with 28nm process technology. In the graphics department, the ARM Mali-T720 MP1 comes with a single core and clocks at 600MHz.
There’s just 1GB of RAM available here with a memory speed of 640MHz for smooth multitasking of Go apps. A bigger 16GB storage space is available as well, and you can upgrade up to 64GB. The Doogee X50L runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box.
Camera
The dual shooters at the rear take photographs with 2592 x 1944 pixels in dimension. The 5MP + 0.3MP shooter has f/2.0 aperture and shoots videos of 720 pixels @30fps, there are other Internal features as well. The 5MP selfie camera comes with f/2.2 aperture lens.
Battery
Powering the Doogee X50L is a 2000mAh removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2.2 hours.
