Design
A budget smartphone with a Metal mix body is better than one with plastic right? The metal mix body on the Geecoo G4 is absolutely stunning, sporting curvy sides and edges as well. There’s no rear fingerprint scanner this time around, with only the Geecoo logo at the middle.
The dual rear shooters are horizontal at the top left, with dual-LED flash right beside it, all on top of the antenna line. Moving to the sides, its one of the slimmest budget smartphones, measuring 6.3 mm slim. The beautiful device is available in stunning colors like Black, Gray, Gold and Rose Gold.
Display
We just have to accept that not all phones will come bezel-less yet. So yes, there are bezels on the G4 but it was reduced when compared to its predecessor. The fingerprint scanner doubles with the home button at the bottom bezel. While selfie camera, front LED flash, speaker grille and ambient light sensor are at the top.
The 5.5-inch HD AMOLED capacitive touchscreen boasts of a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Everything on the screen will be crystal clear and sharp, well for a budget smartphone. It boasts of 267 pixel per inch density, while the screen to body ratio is 70.38%. Protecting the multi-touch screen is a 2.5D glass that is somewhat strong.
Hardware and Software
It houses the MediaTek MT6737 chip with Quad-Core processor, reaching a clock speed of 1.3GHz. It has a 28nm process technology, 64-bit CPU architecture and an ARM Mali-T720 MP2 graphics processor. The graphics processing unit on the G4 reaches a maximum clock speed of 600MHz.
Multitasking with the 2GB RAM hassle free, open lots of light apps and switch through. The RAM has a memory speed of 640MHz for smooth multitasking. Store all files in the 16GB internal storage space available, if it isn’t enough you can upgrade up to 32GB using a memory card. The G4 runs smoothly on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with a cool user interface.
Camera
The 13MP + 0.3MP dual rear shooters with f/2.0 aperture on this affordable baby might surprise you. It captures 4K resolution images, with image dimension reaching as high as 4163 x 3122 pixels. The camera comes with other features like autofocus, touch focus and a dual-LED flash beside it. Record videos of 1080pixels at 30 frames per second, and take beautiful selfies with the 8MP selfie camera. The camera comes with a front flash as well for night video calls.
Battery
Powering the Geecoo G4 is a 3000mAh Non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology support. It might take up to 2.5 hours to fully charge the Geecoo G4 from 0% to 100%.
