Earlier today, a new phone by Huawei appeared on the GeekBench database and its model number is GLK-LX2. The phone had a single-core score of 1516 and a multi-core score of 5193. Based on the scores the phone got, it is likely powered by the Kirin 710 SoC. Some informed sources say that this device which is listed with 6GB of RAM is a part of the Nova Series and its name would most likely be the Huawei Nova 5i. It is worth mentioning that not long ago, a new Huawei device with model number GLK-LX3 also appeared on the GeekBench database and it also had similar scores although it has 4GB of RAM. What this suggests is that Huawei is planning to release the Nove 5i with two storage variants- 4 GB and 6 GB of RAM.
The National Quality Certification Center released information which suggests that Huawei’s SEA-AL10/TL10 new smartphone (also suspected to be the nova 5i) is produced by Flextronics in Zhuhai. It also says that the phone features a 40w super fast charging technology. If this is true, then the Huawei Nova 5i will be the first smartphone by Huawei not in the P and Mate series to come with support for 40W super fast charge. Also, the Huawei Nova 5 may also come with an in-screen fingerprint scanner and it is also expected to be the first device in the Nova series to sport this feature. In terms of configuration, Huawei nova 5 may be powered by the Kirin 980 chipset. This chipset is the first mobile phone chip in the world based on 7nm process technology. Kirin 980 is also the first to implement a Cortex A76-based developer and the first commercial Mali-G76 GPU chip in the industry.
The current latest device in the Nova series is the Huawei Nova 4. The phone comes with a 6.4-inch display which has a resolution of 2310 x 1080. It also features an 86.3% screen ratio. The Nova 4 is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 970 chipset and it also packs up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Huawei nova 5 is expected to be the flagship model while the nova 5i will be a mid-range smartphone.
