Google has bought GraphicsFuzz, a small company that deals with testing and improving GPU drivers. The team, composed of three people, will join the one dedicated to the graphics of Android devices, keeping essentially its task unchanged.
GraphicsFuzz has developed over time a highly automated test method that allows it to find – and fix – bugs in graphics drivers that could create problems of reliability and security. The company has also collaborated on occasion with xda-developers, the worldwide reference point for modding enthusiasts on Android, in particular, to find a bug in the Adreno 630 GPU that could cause remote reboots to Samsung Galaxy S9 with SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
