Here comes the Honor 8A. This is the latest and 2020 version of the Honor 8A smartphone. It’s similar to the Honor 8A Prime that was announced by Huawei. The phone packs a nice body with average specifications and a good battery as well. Since the Honor 8A Prime was announced in Rusia, this might be the global version.
Design And Display
The Honor 8A packs a decent body that features a smooth panel wrapped with all plastic. It has well-rounded edges with a smooth panel that houses the camera, an LED flash, and the fingerprint scanner. The phone measures 156.3 x 73.5 x 8.2 mm in dimensions and weighs just 150 g, which is perfect for any palm to handle.
It comes with a notch that has a screen size of 6.09 inches with an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. As you can see, the screen is big enough for entertainment lovers, and it has a resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio, and 282 ppi density.
Camera Features
For photos, the Honor 8A has a single shooter of 13 MP that is paired with an LED flash for dark background photos. The camera also features HDR, panorama and it can shoot 1080p@30fps video resolution. It has a front camera of 8 MP which is for selfies and video calling. The front camera has HDR, and it can record 1080p@30fps video resolution.
Hardware And Software
On the inside, we found a Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35 chipset built with 12nm process technology. This is the same chip on most Tecno Camon series, including the Camon 15. It has an octa-core processor clocking at a speed of 2.3 GHz with PowerVR GE8320 for graphics related issues. The Honor 8A runs on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system with EMUI 9 user interface on top.
Storage Capacity And Sensors
The inbuilt storage on the phone is 64GB, coupled with 3GB RAM. The maker also equipped the phone with a dedicated slot for a micro SDcard. Apart from the rear-mounted fingerprint reader, the Honor 8A also features an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.
Battery Power And Network Connectivity
The Honor 8A has a non-removable battery of 3020 mAh without fast charging technology. The battery should be able to last a full day under normal usage.
