How to Change Apple ID email address easily

Changing the email address of the Apple ID can be a choice dictated by different reasons- perhaps you have lost access to the mailbox or, more simply, you have decided to cut the past and use another mailbox.

Regardless of the motivation, such as when changing the region of your account, it is a fairly simple action to follow.

Change the Apple ID email address- a pretty simple operation

During the past year, Apple has opened up to third-party mail services- up to a few months ago, it was only possible to rely on domains linked to Apple, while now you can also set up accounts with services like Gmail or Yahoo. On a practical level it is necessary:

  • go to the appleid site appleid.apple.com directly from the web browser
  • log in and select Edit in the upper right corner
  • then, under the Apple ID e-mail, click Change Apple ID
  • Enter the new email you wish to use for your account
  • Click Continue

If you originally set up your Apple ID with an Apple domain (iCloud.Comme.Commac.Com) you can add an email alias address that you can use as the primary email address on your Apple ID, but you can not, however, remove the email present by default.

How to add a third-party email to an Apple ID with an Apple domain

  • go to the appleid site appleid.apple.com directly from the web browser
  • log in and select Edit in the upper right corner
  • click on Add more, under the heading of the mails
  • add the new email address you’d like to use with your Apple ID

Please note: in doing so, you will be able to access your account with the new email address you have added or with the email address of the original Apple domain.
