HTC announces the official release of its latest smartphone no one was expecting, it is dubbed HTC One S9. Both the HTC One S9 and HTC One M9 has no much difference except for a set of two front-firing speakers. Let’s get this out the way at the start – the design is one amazing part of the HTC One S9, it features an aluminum body and measures 144.6 x 69.7 x 10.1 mm almost precisely the same as the One M9 and weighs 158 g. The display, on the other hand, is a 5.0-inch (1080 x 1920 pixels) Full HD Super LCD unit with 441 ppi pixel density and protected with Gorilla Glass on top.
Camera
The camera department of the HTC One S9 crams in a 13MP primary camera on the back, not the One M9’s 21MP shooter. Looking at the camera features like the f/2.0 aperture, 28mm equivalent focal length, and OIS, it looks like a set up of HTC One A9. The front-facing camera is 4MP, 2 μm pixels, f/2.0 aperture, 26.8mm equivalent focal length.
Operating System & Performance
Inside, there’s a powering 64-bit Octa-Core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) processor clocking 2GHZ and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) laced with HTC Sense UI on top. On the hardware front you’re also getting BoomSound speakers, and the proper kind too – stereo.
The phone comes with 16 GB of inbuilt storage, 9.24GB available to the user, HTC says. But can be expandable up to 200 GB through the hybrid dual-SIM slot thoughthe company claims its support up to 2TB.
Battery & Colour
The One S9 is juiced by a non-removable Li-Ion 2840 mAh Battery. Connectivity options including nine LTE bands with Cat.4 speeds, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS/GLONASS/Beidou support..Onboard sensors include Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. The HTC One S9 will be available in Gold and Silver colour variants.
