We have written a post about the Samsung W2019 leak before but now we have more details about the smartphone because finally, Samsung has announced the Samsung W2019 on November 9th, 2018 in China. As we mentioned before, this is a great device that fans can expect to get very soon.
This device comes with all the features that people who love high-end smartphones love. Take for example the storage. This smartphone has enough storage for die-hard gamers who store myriads of video games on their phones. That is just one area where the Samsung W2019 wins.
In this review, we will consider other good features of Samsung W2019, such as design, display, camera, price, battery life, etc.
Design and display of Samsung W2019
Body design of the device shows that it is a foldable smartphone with metal, glass, and dual display classic clamshell design. Dimensions are 132.9 x 63.4 x 17.3 mm and it weighs 257 grams. It comes in gold and silver colors for now. It is not water resistant, has no face recognition option but it has secondary display.
Display type in this smartphone is Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen of 16 million displays colors. The screen size is 4.2 inches and for the secondary display, it is 4.2 inches as well. Both screens have 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. Pixel density is 525 ppi, and display protection feature is Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Camera Features
At the camera department there is dual camera setup of 12 MP f/1.5-2.4 aperture plus 12 MP f/2.4 aperture, 1.4-micron pixel size. The cameras have Led flash capacities. To the front there is 8 MP f/2.0 aperture. However, there is no flash attribute in the selfie camera. Video performances are 2160p@60fps and 1080p@240fps.
Other important camera features are geotagging, auto focus, PADF, OIS, EIS, HDR, touch focus, face detection, and panorama.
Hardware and Software of Samsung W2019
Android OS 8.1 Oreo reigns supreme as the primary software in the device. We surely know that this will update to the latest Android soon after its release. For hardware the device has Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset running the show with process technology 10nm. The CPU is Octa-core 4 x 2.8 GHz 385 Kyro plus 4 x 1.8 GHz Kyro 385. Likewise, the GPU is Adreno 630. These run on 64-bit architecture.
Samsung W2019 Storage Capacity and Sensors
There are two variants of the device but both have the same 6GB of RAM which cannot be expanded. However, the internal storage is split into two variants of 128GB/256GB. Further, SIM 2 slot in the device can be sued to boost storage further to 512GB on the external side. Sensors include accelerometer, proximity, light, fingerprint, and others.
Network and Connectivity
Supported networks in the Samsung W2019 are GSM, CDMA, TD-SCDMA, HSPA, LTE. Consequently, there are 2G, 3G, and 4G internet connectivity in the device. To support these further are two SIM card slots that can make use of hybrid and Nano SIM cards.
Other connectivity options in the device are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, wireless charging (not sure about this), USB v3.1 Type C. However, there is no infrared, headphone jack, or HDMI in the smartphone.
Battery Life in Samsung W2019
Powering the device is a 3070 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery which has both wireless and fast charging technology. Users can charge their phone full in no prolonged time. Standby time is up to 280 hours.
Price and Availability
Although Samsung has not yet confirmed the price of Samsung W2019, we believe that the phone price will be around $1,450 USD. The smartphone will soon be released, having been announced by Samsung on November 9, 2018.
