The Huawei P20 Lite has officially been announced as a teaser to the much-anticipated Huawei P20 smartphone. The Huawei P20 was rumoured to launch with three rear camera, but it looks like the P20 Lite only has dual rear cameras.
The P20 Lite is much more affordable than the official smartphone that might be announced later this week as well. The Lite version comes with high-end specs, boasting of 4GB RAM, 64GB storage space and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. Want to know more? Stay with me.
Design
Sporting a Metal overall unibody and covered exquisitely in glass. The body looks a little bit disappointing after all the hype though. It comes with a rear fingerprint scanner, which means Huawei is also not ready for the trending in-display fingerprint sensor.
Nevertheless, the company went for the trending vertical dual shooters at the top left withe the dual-LED flash underneath. The Huawei logo is also vertical at the bottom left corner, coincidence? Moving to the sides, it measures 7.8 mm slim and weighs less than 190g overall. Available in only Black and Red colors, no words yet if other colors will follow suit.
Display
It’s bezel-less with the trending top-notch, which is almost rampant this mobile season. The narrow bezels are invisible just like every other bezels on the screen. The top-notch houses the selfie camera, speaker grille and ambient light sensor.
The 5.6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is super brilliant, boasting of 2250 x 1080 pixels in resolution and 445.67 pixel per inch density. The screen has an 18:9 aspect ratio, dishing out a much fuller display than ever. Reaching an outstanding 80% screen to body ratio with super minimal bezels.
Hardware and Software
The system on chip is the HiSilicon Kirin 659 from Huawei with an Octa-core processor clocking at 1.7 GHz. Experience fast performance with the P20 Lite, it has a 64-bit CPU architecture, 16nm process technology and ARM Mali-T830 MP2 graphics processor.
Multitask with ease with up to 4GB RAM space available, reaching a memory speed of 833 MHz. Store up all files in the 64GB storage space available, which is upgradeable up to 256GB with a memory card. The P20 lite runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box.
Camera
So just three cameras here, two rear shooters and one selfie camera. The 16MP + 16MP rear camera take amazing photos of 4619 x 3464 pixels in dimension. There’s a dual-LED flash underneath the camera to help out in dark places and low light environments. An 8MP selfie camera sits at the top-notch for cute selfies, while videos of 1080 pixels loads at 30 frames per second.
Battery
Powering the Huawei P20 Lite up is a 3520mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. Charging up the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take more than 2 hours.
