Design
It kinda looks like the Infinix Hot 4 from afar, but the rear camera and fingerprint scanner are far apart. We have to give it to itel though, they seem to be getting better in terms of design. Although, it still sports a Plastic cover which is removable.
From the photo above, we can see it has two micro sim slots and a microSD slot as well. We can see the rear camera LED flash and fingerprint scanner, while the battery is obviously removable. There’s a 3.5 mm jack at the top and usb charging port underneath.
Display
Bezel-less, just like all smartphones launched by itel in India. Even though there are still bezels all over, but they are super minimal compared to what we usually get from the company. The itel A44 dishes an impressive 18:9 aspect ratio, a feature most smartphones in its price range don’t have.
The company had to flow with the current trend when creating the device. The 5.45-inch FWVGA+ IPS capacitive touchscreen dishes out a Full View display just like the S42. The screen boasts of a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels with 285 pixel per inch density offering clear visuals.
Hardware and Software
Unlike the S42, the A44 houses the Mediatek MT6737M chip with quad-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 4-cores of processor clocks at 1.4GHz and has a 28nm process technology for a smooth ride. A Mali graphics processor handles everything graphics here.
There’s just 1GB of RAM on the A44 which reaches a memory speed of 533MHz. In terms of storage, a standard 8GB storage space is available as well and upgradeable up to 32GB using a memory card. The A44 runs smoothly on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
Camera
The cameras in the A44 is a little bit disappointing, the 5MP rear camera could only capture 2K resolution images. Even though the camera comes with a LED flash to help out in kow light environments. For selfies, there’s another 5MP selfie camera with LED flash as well for night video calls.
Battery
Powering the itel A44 is a 2400mAh removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, it might take more than 2 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.

Itel actually disappointed with this smartphone because the battery capacity is just too poor for usage in nigeria due to the non constant power supply in nigeria! Itel should have atleast increase the battery capacity to 3000MAH
