Koobee F2 was launched in Beijing as the company’s flagship smartphone, the F2 is an update of the F1 smartphone we reviewed earlier. The F series from Koobee is really underrated, the latest F2 smartphone brings a whole new naked-eye 3D technology.
The 6-inch 3D LCD screen allows users to watch 3D videos and play 3D games, using lenticular lens technology. It also comes with four built-in 3D apps, namely ‘3D stuff’, ‘3D media’, ‘Z+ games’, and ‘3D camera.’ The Helio P23 is in charge here, with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and four cameras.
Design
At first glance, the device looks a lot like the Mate 10 from Huawei, but it has a unique twist to it. You can literally feel all the details and the glows, which the body exudes. The Metal back is absolutely stunning and a beauty to body. The dual cameras are vertical at the top middle.
Beside the shooters is a LED flash, they are situated on a different shade of colour compared to the whole body. The fingerprint scanner comes underneath, it measures 7.9mm in thickness and weighs 187g overall. It was launched in Gold, Gray and Blue colors only.
Display
No notch here yet for Koobee, the screen still sports the normal 18:9 aspect ratio. Another good thing about the screen is how it stretched all the way to the sides, this often gives taller display when in landscape mode. The top and bottom bezels are still thick but it has been reduced compared to the F1.
The Koobee F2 is built around a massive 6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. This is big enough if you’re into huge screens, it has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 402 pixel per inch density for sharp and clear visuals. As stated above, the screen comes with 3D – Parallax Barrier.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood, the Helio P23 from MediaTek takes charge with its Octa-Core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-Cores of processor here clocks at an impressive speed of 2.34GHz with 16nm process technology. The ARM Mali-G71 MP2 handles graphics here and clocks at 770MHz with 2-Cores.
For multitasking, a massive 4GB RAM space does the job effortlessly, with a memory speed of 1.6GHz. While for storage, the 64GB space can be upgraded up to 128GB using a memory. The Koobee F2 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with Dido 8.0 on top.
Camera
The cameras on this device shouldn’t be underestimated one bit, the dual 16MP + 16MP shooters has f/2.0 aperture respectively. The cameras are accompanied by a LED flash and other features like Autofocus, Continuous shooting, Digital zoom and others. The rear shooters uses rainbow filter to shoot clearer photos in low light conditions. The dual 16MP + 16MP selfie shooter has f/2.0 aperture as well and supports Face ID.
Battery
Powering the Koobee F2 is a 3300mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2 hours.
