LG G8S ThinQ Review – Featuring Triple Rear Cameras And 6GB RAM

The LG G8S ThinQ was among the smartphones from LG that was launched at the MWC that took place last month. The phone parades a beautiful body which is similar to the LG G8 ThinQ. The difference is that the phone packs a bigger screen with less camera set-up and small battery capacity.

Design And Display

On the body, the phone is wrapped up with a corning gorilla glass 5 both on the back and front. It looks cool and amazing offering a premium look and feel. The device features a screen size of 6.2-inch notched AMOLED display with a small chin at the bottom of the screen. It offers a screen resolution of 1080 x 2248 pixel and 402 PPI density. The phone is available in Carmine Red, New Aurora Black, and New Moroccan Blue.


In terms of camera, the LG G8S ThinQ also features a triple rear cameras set-up. It has a 12MP camera which features f/1.5 aperture, OIS, PDAF and laser AF with another 13MP wide-angle camera and the third sensor is a 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture 2x optical zoom, OIS and PDA. Other features on the camera include LED, HDR, Panorama and it can shoot 4k or 1080p videos at 30/60fps and 720p videos at 240fps. Up front is an 8MP sitting on the notch which has an f/1.7 aperture and TOF (time of flight) camera. It also serves as a FaceID with Air motion which allows air gesture control.

Hardware And Software

The LG G8S ThinQ has a Snapdragon 855 SoC onboard which has an octa-core processor that clocked at a speed of 2.84GHz and Adreno 640 GPU. The inbuilt memory is 128GB with a backup of 6GB RAM and it also has a slot for micro SD card which you can use to expand the phone up to 512GB. Booting the phone is Android 9.0 Pie operating system with a nonremovable battery capacity of 3550 mAh. It also has support for both fast and wireless charging technology. Other features include 4G LTE, GPS, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, Bluetooth and other regulars.
