Both flagship smartphones feature a metal core with a front and rear glass and aluminum frame. In terms of dimensions and weight, the Huawei P20 Pro measures 155 x 73.9 x 7.8 mm and weighs 180 grams. Whereas, the LG G7 ThinQ measures 153.2 x 71.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs 162 grams. The Huawei P20 Pro is larger and heavier compared to the LG G7 ThinQ. They’re both water and dust resistance, the LG G7 ThinQ has an IP68 rating while the Huawei P20 Pro has an IP67 rating. What this means is that the LG G7 ThinQ can survive when submerged into 1.5 meters depth of water. While the Huawei P20 Pro can only survive in a 1-meter depth of water.
Aside from the IP rating, the LG G7 ThinQ comes with a MIL-STD-810G compliant for shock endurance. The rear cameras of both phones are vertically aligned. On the LG G7 ThinQ, there are two rear cameras at the top center. Whereas, on the Huawei P20 Pro, there are three rear cameras at the top left corner. The fingerprint sensor is rear mounted on the LG G7 ThinQ and front mounted on the Huawei P20 Pro. In terms of body colors option, the Huawei P20 Pro is available in Midnight Blue Twilight, Black and Pink Gold colors. Whereas, the LG G7 ThinQ is available in New Platinum Gray, New Aurora Black, New Moroccan Blue and Raspberry Rose colors.

The LG G7 ThinQ is marketed as the brightest smartphone display right now. The smartphone uses a FullView Super Bright IPS LCD panel with an 82.6% screen-to-body ratio. The screen technology used for the Huawei P20 Pro is AMOLED panel, which measures 6.1 inches with 82% screen-to-body ratio. The best screen technology in the market is definitely the OLED featured on the Huawei P20 Pro.
The Huawei P20 Pro sports an 18.7:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2240 pixels resolution and 408 pixels per inch density. Whereas, the LG G7 ThinQ sports a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 1440 x 3120 pixels resolution and 564 pixels per inch density. They both feature a top-notch, though the notch of the Huawei P20 Pro is smaller. The Huawei P20 Pro has a bottom bezel that houses its home button. While the LG G7 ThinQ has a minimal bottom chin.

Both smartphones camera is powered by AI. The dual rear camera of the LG G7 ThinQ is made up of dual 16MP sensors. The primary sensor features a f/1.6 aperture while the secondary sensor features a f/1.9 aperture. The Huawei P20 Pro features a triple Leica rear camera consisting of a 40MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 20MP sensors with f/1.6 aperture. The third camera is an 8MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
Up front, the Huawei P20 Pro packs a 24MP selfie shooter f/2.0 aperture. Whereas, the LG G7 ThinQ packs an 8MP selfie shooter with f/1.9 aperture.

Under the hood, the LG G7 ThinQ is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and Adreno 630 graphics processing unit. While the Huawei P20 Pro is powered by an in-house Hisilicon Kirin 970 chipset and Mali-G72 MP12 graphics processing unit.
The Huawei P20 Pro runs on EMUI 8.1 skin on top Android 8.1 Oreo, 6GB memory with 128GB internal storage. Meanwhile, the LG G7 ThinQ runs on UX 6.0 skin on top Android 8.0 Oreo, 4/6GB memory with 64/128GB internal storage.
