LG Q StylusA has been introduced by LG, alongside the Q Stylus and Q Stylus Plus. As the name suggests, the Stylus A is the watered-down variant of both smartphones we reviewed earlier. If you really want the Q Stylus but you’re on a budget then this is for you.
The Stylus A has 3GB of RAM, 32GB storage space, the rear camera is now a 13MP shooter. Nonetheless, it has the QLens technology, a tall display, a stylus pen and the DTS:X 3D surround sound. Lets meet the LG Q StylusA.
Design
The Q StylusA looks exactly like its two bigger siblings from afar, but there’s a major difference you won’t notice at first glance or maybe ever. The device doesn’t have any IP68 certifications like its siblings, this means, the StylusA isn’t water nor dust resistant.
There’s no military grade complaint as well, apart from that, you see get the same aluminium alloy overall unibody. The fingerprint scanner is still present for quick access to the device. It still measures the same 8.4 mm in thickness and weighs 172g overall. Just like its siblings, you can get it in Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet colors.
Display
This affordable variant offers you the same size of screen and features you’ll get on the Plus version. The screen dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio as well, with super minimal bezels at the top and bottom corner. Even as super minimal the top is, it houses the usual features.
The 6.2-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen on the StylusA is more than perfect for its price. It has a a 1080 x 2160 pixels and 389 pixel per inch density, offering clear visuals for just little money. Additionally, the screen stretches up to 80% screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset which was built on a 14nm process technology. It has 8-Cores of processor which clocks at a smooth speed of 1.8GHz offering a smooth ride. The Adreno 506 graphics processor controls graphics and clocks at 600MHz.
You get the same 3GB RAM we saw on the Q Stylus, the RAM boasts of 933MHz in memory speed. The storage is still pegged at 32GB, but you can expand it further whenever you want using a memory card, up to 400GB. The LG Q StylusA runs smoothly on Android 8.1 Oreo with modified user interface.
Camera
The pixels on the rear camera has been reduced to 13MP, it still has f/2.0 aperture and promises a better photography. Details on the camera are still the same, like phase detection autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR. Videos of 1080p can be recorded at @30fps. The pixels on the selfie camera was reduced as well, you now a 5MP shooter here.
Battery
Powering the LG Q StylusA is a 3300mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2 hours.
