The South Korean manufacturer LG has started the rollout of Android 8.0 (Oreo) for the LG V30. The update also includes the March security patch.
The LG V30 is LG’s flagship that appeared on the market last year on December 4th. At the launch, the smartphone ran on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat), but an update to Oreo was not yet available. Fortunately, that is now changing, as LG has now started rolling out a new update that will bring both Oreo and the security patch from March to the LG V30.
Android 8.0 brings several improvements, including the new more personal notification channels, adaptive icons with Notification Dots and the picture-in-picture mode. Oreo must also run faster, more economically and more stable.
The Oreo update in combination with the March security patch is 1.6 GB in size and will be rolled out in phases. The update first comes in on unbranded devices, after which devices purchased from a provider will follow soon.
The LG V30 received a suggested retail price of 899 euros at the introduction but is now available for € 699 at Coolblue.
