After the arrival of the Meizu 15 series to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of the Chinese manufacturer, the company has announced that this line-up is more a sort of testing and that the real flagship of the year will be in the Meizu 16 line, which will be officialized in August. The CEO of the company Jack Wong has just released a statement that has made the hype skyrocket among the most passionate.
Being a post in Chinese and being the message somewhat implied, we can not give you certainty about its content. But from the most plausible interpretation, the CEO seems to have written that the most powerful variant of Meizu 16 will cost at most 4000 Yuan or about 533 euros. We know for sure that at least one Android smartphone of this series will mount the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, and certainly will be the most powerful version (the base should instead mount a Snapdragon 710). Moreover, since this is the most expensive configuration we expect to see on board at least 6 GB of RAM if not even 8.
And all this at a price of only € 533 – which could make it one of the most affordable top-of-the-range smartphones of the year, along with OnePlus 6 and a few others. We should expect an increase in the global market compared to the Chinese market, but it would still be a very low price for a device of this thickness. Together with the SoC Snapdragon 845, Meizu 16 is rumored to have thin edges around the display at the level of the iPhone X and Xiaomi Mi 8, as well as a fingerprint reader integrated into the display. There should also be a Samsung Super AMOLED display.
